Russian Numitron Nixie Tube Clock - Solid Walnut
Luminous Rex offers this Russian Numitron tube clock in a case of solid walnut hardwood.
This tube clock is a new take on an old display technology. Using miniature Numitron tube display units of Russian origin, this clock provides a beautiful glowing display of hours, minutes, and seconds. These tubes were used throughout the 1970s and 80s in laboratories, engineering and military applications requiring easily readable digits from a wide viewing angle.
Similar to "Nixie" display tubes, Numitron tubes run at lower voltage, and don't have problems with cathode poisoning. The tubes in this clock are highly sought after for their beautiful orange "digital" glow, and a long display life of up to 10 years.
Each clock is made by hand -- we use a CAM process to construct the solid walnut hardwood enclosure. After, it is finished, sanded, and sealed using hand tools. The entire process happens at our workshop in Seattle.
Each tube is 11mm diameter x 30mm in height.
This clock is powered over USB, with a high quality black braided cord. You can power the clock using any standard USB-A port on your computer, a standard USB charger, or USB battery pack.
The clock has internal battery backup, retaining the correct time when not plugged in. You can download the app to set the clock's time when plugged into your PC or Mac here:
The clock comes with a one year warranty (excluding tubes). In the unlikely case that repair is needed, we will replace tubes at cost, determined by the stock available on the market at the time of service. Luckily, if you take good care of your Numitron tube clock, there will be no need for tube replacement. We provide high levels of workmanship and take pride in the quality of our products.
